INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup ragi flour (finger millet flour)
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons melted ghee or oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Oil for deep frying

METHOD

  1. Prepare Dough: Mix 1 cup ragi flour, 1/2 cup rice flour, sesame seeds, melted ghee/oil, cumin seeds, chili powder, and salt. Gradually add water to form a smooth dough.
  2. Shape Chakli: Use a chakli maker to form chakli shapes on a greased surface or directly into hot oil.
  3. Fry: Deep fry until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Serve: Drain excess oil and cool before serving.
