After organizing various camps and workshops and conducting 100+ TTG tests in government schools of Chandigarh, Annika realized many students were intolerant to gluten.
In Year 2020, she submitted RTI to Ministry of Human Resource Development Department of School Education & Literacy, requesting the details of food provided in Mid-Day Meal scheme offered in government schools of India.
In Year 2022, working towards this concern, Annika met with Sh. Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, Director School Education, Chandigarh to discuss the consequences of celiac disease and requesting him to introduce food labeling policy for Mid-day meals in government schools in Chandigarh.
It is her conscientiousness and determination to contribute to the development of the community at such a young age, to increase access and education about Celiac Disease that has caught my attention, and I would like to endorse and appreciate her efforts for the same.”
